Hospital and Inpatient Care
Coordinated hospital care for children who need admission, from acute illness through to intensive care.
Hospital & Inpatient Care
A hospital admission is rarely part of the plan, and it can be an unsettling time for the whole family.
Dr Angela Colquhoun provides hospital care for children requiring admission, from acute illness through to more complicated and critically ill cases in the intensive care unit, with the same attentiveness families know from the practice.
What Does Inpatient Care Involve?
Complex cases often need detailed investigation, close monitoring and coordination across several disciplines. Dr Angela works closely with paediatric intensivists, subspecialists, nursing teams and allied healthcare professionals to make sure each child receives integrated, individual care throughout the admission.
After Discharge
What Happens After Discharge?
Follow-up care continues once your child is home, with a plan for ongoing monitoring where needed. For children whose infection history led to admission, this may include a closer look at recurrent infections and immune concerns.
Hospital & Inpatient Care
Continuity Beyond The Hospital Stay
Hospital care does not end at discharge. Dr Angela remains involved in your child's recovery, coordinating any follow-up appointments and keeping the care plan consistent between hospital and practice, so families are not left to manage the transition alone.

How Are Families Kept Involved?
- 1Being kept in the dark is one of the hardest parts of a hospital stay
- 2Families are kept informed, supported and actively involved in decisions about their child's treatment and recovery, with regular updates rather than long silences in between
- 3Questions are answered as they come up, rather than saved for a single scheduled update
