Growth, Nutrition & Digestive Health

Growth charts, feeding schedules and nappy contents become surprisingly central to family life in the early years, and for good reason.

Healthy growth and good nutrition sit at the centre of a child's development, and Dr Angela Colquhoun keeps a close eye on both, from the newborn stage right through to the school years.

What Does Growth Monitoring Involve?

Weight, height, head growth and growth patterns are tracked over time, alongside nutritional intake and feeding behaviour. This makes it easier to spot a pattern early, rather than reacting to a single measurement in isolation. A single low or high reading rarely tells the whole story on its own, which is why the trend across several visits matters more than any one number.

Further Support

When Is Further Support Needed?

When necessary, Dr Angela works with dietitians and other healthcare professionals to build an individual nutrition plan, with specialist referral arranged where the concern needs further investigation. For babies still in their first months, this often overlaps with newborn and infant care.

Supporting The Whole Family Through Feeding Challenges

Feeding struggles can feel isolating, particularly when well-meaning advice from all directions starts to contradict itself. Guidance here is specific to your child's growth pattern and your family's routine, rather than a one-size-fits-all feeding rule, and it is revisited as your child's needs change.
